Rohini Walker

Rohini Walker Profile Photo

I’m a British-Indian writer and practitioner-teacher of the esoteric arts of inner-alchemy, which I channel into soul-body liberation. For the past eleven years, I’ve lived in the mythic landscape of the Mojave desert in southern California. My journey thus far has been a literal and metaphorical odyssey, bringing me far, far away from where I was when I entered this life.

I was born in Kolkata, India when the moon was just exiting her fullness, still bright and round in her waning gibbous form. I was given the name Rohini, after the celestial goddess and beloved of Chandra, the Indian moon god. And because Indians love a nickname, I was also called Moon - after the first love of my life, my maternal grandmother, a formidable and magical matriarch, who was affectionately known as Moona.

Many years later, I married the man I love who has the last name Walker. Taking his name so that I would be Moon Walker was a no-brainer- especially after we decided to cross an ocean to live in the moon-like desert, where we have been planted for the past ten years.
